Enhancing Oil and Gas Capacity

Shell aims to be a positive presence in our host country; to deliver long-term benefits to Namibia and its people. One of the ways in which we do this is by working with the government and university students to enhance Namibia’s oil and gas capacity. Examples of how we have done this in the past few years include:

• supporting the Ministry of Mines and Energy when it established an oil and gas taskforce;
• delivering lectures to students at the University of Namibia and Namibia University of Science and Technology;
• involving representatives from the Ministry and NAMCOR in operational planning, including workshops with Shell experts; and
• contributing annually to the petroleum training and education fund (PETROFUND)
