Shell Namibia at the 7th Namibia International Energy Conference

Shell Namibia proudly participated in the 7th Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) hosted by RichAfrica Consultancy held in Windhoek April 22 - 25. The event brought together Namibian leaders, global investors, and regional stakeholders, all rallying around a shared vision for the country’s energy future—one rooted in local content, value addition, and energy sovereignty.

Suzanne Coogan, Shell's VP Heartland Exploration & Namibia, welcomed attendees at the conference’s opening cocktail reception. She spoke warmly about the meaningful partnerships Shell has cultivated with local communities, stakeholders, and our JV partners, while also expressing heartfelt appreciation to the Namibian government for its ongoing support.

Suzanne Coogan also participated in a panel discussion on “Creating In-Country Value: Local Content, Skills & Partnerships for an Energy Hub.” She emphasized the importance of environmental stability, transparent contracts, and long-term partnerships to anchor Namibia’s energy ambitions. “Investing in our communities, especially in youth and women, is key to sustainable growth,” she noted.

The insights shared, relationships built, and collaborations sparked at NIEC 2025 will echo far beyond Windhoek, fuelling progress across Namibia’s energy landscape and beyond.
